Terms
It's a free map for the coast, put together by locals. Be decent, stay safe and look after each other.

The map
The map is free to use. People add their own houses, so we can't promise every house will be lit on the night or that every time is right. Houses marked SAMPLE are made up, to show how it works, until locals add theirs.
Going to see the lights
- Stay on the road or the footpath. Don't go onto anyone's property unless they've invited you.
- These are people's homes. Keep the noise down, don't block driveways and be good to the neighbours.
- Drive to the conditions, and don't use your phone while you're driving. Get someone else to read the map.
- Keep an eye on the kids. It's dark and there are cars about.
Adding your house
- Only add a house you live at, or one you've got permission to add.
- What you add has to be yours to share. Your photo stays yours, and you're letting us show it on the site while your pin's up.
- No bad language, no ads and nobody else's private details.
- Pins go up straight away after an automatic check. We look at photos before they show.
- We can change, hide or take down anything that doesn't suit the site, without telling you first.
Events
We don't run the events on this site. We list them so you can find them, and times and places can change. Check with whoever's running it before you head out.
Ratings
The baubles are just a bit of fun. Be fair to people who've gone to the effort.
Chipping in
You never have to pay to use the map. If you chip in, it's a one-off payment towards running it and you don't get anything back for it except our thanks. If something goes wrong with a payment, email [email protected] and we'll sort it out.
The fine print
We do our best, but the site might be wrong or go down now and then. As far as New Zealand law allows, we can't cover any loss or damage from using it. Your rights under New Zealand law stay as they are, and New Zealand law applies.
We might change these terms from time to time. The date at the top tells you when we last did.
